The traveling EXIT Universe experience has officially begun its journey across the Hungary – Serbia cross-border region, with its first stop at Malomfesztivál in Orom, Serbia, from 6 to 8 August. Created following EXIT Festival’s 25th anniversary celebration, EXIT Universe brings the spirit, history and energy of the legendary festival beyond the Petrovaradin Fortress, transforming 25 years of music, unforgettable moments and powerful ideas into an immersive cultural experience.

Set up as an open-air cultural village at Malomfesztivál, EXIT Universe welcomed visitors into a world where festival history, music, technology and community came together in a completely new format. At the centre of the experience was the iconic EXIT Van, taking visitors on a journey through the festival’s quarter-century history. Through interactive content, visitors could discover some of the most important moments in EXIT’s development, its international awards and its wider social and cultural impact.
The experience then moved beyond the traditional role of the festival audience through the VR Experience Zone. Using immersive VR technology, spatial audio and cinematic 360° video, the zone offered visitors a chance to experience EXIT from perspectives usually reserved for artists and festival crews, from standing on stage alongside world-famous performers and going behind the scenes during live shows to taking in the spectacular sight of crowds numbering tens of thousands.
The Best Of EXIT zone celebrated the festival’s musical heritage, allowing visitors to revisit legendary performances from the Main Stage, unforgettable Dance Arena moments and highlights from the Fusion Stage. Meanwhile, the EXIT Energy Zone offered a more relaxed space for visitors to pause, connect and enjoy the atmosphere that has always made EXIT more than just a music festival. More than a retrospective, EXIT Universe is designed as an experience that invites visitors to become part of EXIT’s story, whether they have been attending the festival for decades or are discovering its legacy for the first time.
After its opening in Orom, EXIT Universe continues its journey through the region, with its next stop at Green Future Music Festival in Senta, Serbia, from 13 to 16 August, followed by Sunset Picnic at the National Heritage Park in Ópusztaszer, Hungary, on 18 September.
EXIT Universe is part of the Incredible Destinations Events project, a partnership between the EXIT Foundation and the National Heritage Park in Ópusztaszer (ONTE), Hungary, implemented with the support of the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Hungary–Serbia.
The Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Hungary-Serbia is implemented within the 2021-2027 European Union financial framework, under the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA). On the basis of “shared management system” of the participating countries – Hungary and Serbia, the Programme funds and supports co-operation projects of organizations based in the Programme-eligible area – Hungarian counties Csongrád and Bács-Kiskun, and Serbian territories: West Bačka, North Bačka, South Bačka, North Banat, Central Banat, South Banat and Srem district. The Programme helps the development of a stable and co-operating region and the overall quality of life in the border region. It enables economic collaboration of organizations from the two countries, nurtures the common identity, and cultural and historical heritage of the border region, and contributes to its environmental sustainability and safety.
