The GrassrEUts music competition has been open today, and the aim of the competition and the project of the same name is to support and promote emerging European performers. The competition is open to performers from Serbia, Hungary, Portugal, Tunisia, and Ukraine, and those who win will have the opportunity to perform at a festival in their country, but also at some of the renowned festivals throughout Europe.

In addition to covering the costs of travel, accommodation and food, a fee of €1,500 per band is provided.

Detailed rules of the competition can be found at this link, and the deadline for applications is 5 May.

Out of the five performers who will perform at EXIT Festival this year, the audience will choose two winners who will perform at one of the partner festivals next year: Sziget in Hungary, Nos Alive in Portugal and Carthage Jazz in Tunisia.

GrassrEUts is an EU-funded project under the Creative Europe programme. It started in November 2024 and has been running for two years, with the aim of promoting European and the music of neighbouring countries on international stages. In addition to EXIT Festival, the project also includes Sziget Festival (Hungary), NOS Alive (Portugal), Jazz Festival of Carthage (Tunisia), All-Ukrainian Association of Music Events (Ukraine) and KUN Centre for Equality and Diversity (Norway).

Detailed information about the project can be found on the www.grassreuts.eu website.
