In addition to the presentation of the platform, the event is an opportunity to bring together some of the leading experts in the cultural and creative industries from the region and Europe, with a common idea to explore new paths for cooperation, growth and sustainability in their sector.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>About the Western Balkans as one of the future global centres of creativity, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the future of creative industries, as well as creative ways to utilize authentic identity to achieve unique experiences<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will talk, among others,<\/span><b>\u00a0 Jon Zeff, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UK Creative Industries Council, Lead advisor, <\/span><b>Michael<\/b> <b>Kill, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UK Night Time Industries Association, CEO, <\/span><b>Du\u0161an Kova\u010devi\u0107<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, EXIT Festival, CEO &amp; Founder, <\/span><b>Jovan Marjanovi\u0107, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sarajevo Film Festival, Director, <\/span><b>Andrew Blackett<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, fabric London, Programming Director, <\/span><b>Hilary Knight, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UK independent consultant for CCI, <\/span><b>Tihomir Baji\u0107<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, XQ &amp; FQV VC Fund, Partner\/Serbian entrepreneurs, Founder, and <\/span><b>Samantha Mathys<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an expert in the hospitality and nightlife industry. All participants will have a unique opportunity to find out how &#8220;Creative Gate&#8221; can contribute to their <\/span><b>professional development and better connectivity <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with all domains of cultural and creative industries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Creative Gate Platform is part of the &#8220;<\/span><b>Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans&#8221; (CC4WBs)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> project, funded by <\/span><b>the European Union<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which aims to strengthen the cultural and creative sectors in the region by improving dialogue and socio-economic impact. The project is implemented by <\/span><b>UNESCO, the British Council <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which are working to create a sustainable and inclusive creative environment, recognizing the importance of cultural heritage and innovation for regional cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creative industries in Serbia account for <\/span><b>7.4% <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of gross domestic product (GDP) and are growing faster than the rest of the economy. The sector comprises more than 70,000 companies employing around 127,000 people, of which almost 70% are in the 25-44 age group, half have university degrees, women being significantly represented.
